4 july 2011, Essen (Germany)

Düsenjäger the new Vanmoof bicycle, won the prestigious Red Dot Design award 2011 in the categorie Sport and Games. Ask4Me Group is responsible for the design and production of the praised solar LED lights in the bicycle. The lights can be charged by sun or by micro-USB on rainy days. These lights are used in all Vanmoof bicycles and products. Vanmoof can proudly add the Red Dot Award on their awards list, next to the Eurobike award, the Dutch Design Award and the Design Management Europe Award. The Red Dot Design award ceremony will take place at the Red Dot Gala on the 4^th of july in Red Dot museum in Essen. The Düsenjäger is expected to launch in August.

Amsterdam, 10-13 May 2011

Creative Amsterdam is a three-day event which hosts discussions between Dutch creative entrepreneurs operating abroad. The program included a workshop on doing business in China. Formal advisor of the creative industry at the Dutch Consulate in Guangzhou and Ask4Me Group’s ambassador Jorg van den Hoven was invited to reflect his vision about this topic. Other speaker included Victor van der Chijs (OMA), Peter Slavenburg (Northern Light), Marc van der Chijs (Tudou.com, Spil Games,), Mark Hemel (IBA), Richelle Groen (Adidas NEO). 

Shanghai, 12 May 2011

On May 12, the first edition of the Dutch Design in China Yearbook 2011 was presented by the Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation and Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Maxime Verhagen. Ask4Me Group and 40 other Dutch design firms and their recent Chinese projects have been documented in this first edition. The special online version contains a searchable directory of all Dutch creative industry in China.

Guangzhou, 26 April 2011

On 26 April 2011, the Consul General of The Netherlands Mr Ton van Zeeland opened the new Ask4Me Group office in Guangzhou. Boukje Koch, Co-founder of Ask4Me Group in China and Hong Kong, explained the history of Ask4Me Group in China since 2005. Mr van Zeeland gave a heart warming speech on design and the foundations Ask4Me group laid as first Dutch Design company in Guangzhou. At present, design is one of the core policies for both the Netherlands in the PRD and the Chinese government. The opening was attended the Dutch Design Delegation that visited the newly opened Product Design Center of the Canton Fair. The delegation to Guangzhou was organized by DDFA , BNO and Syntens in cooperation with the Netherlands Consulate in Guangzhou and the Dutch Design Desk.
